About the name. Well, I really can't compete or compare with Robert Harding World Imagery, so I'm distancing myself from using my own name. My work as a theatre stage manager has informed my eye and approach to photography, so I wanted to incorporate the two words from my theatre vocabulary that have been part of a calm and centring mantra. To "Standby", one readies themselves. They prepare for an event. Photography is a series of Standby's; setting the ISO, adjusting the shutter speed and finding focus. To "Go" one initiates an action (a lighting cue, a sound effect, etc) at a specific moment, not unlike firing the shutter of the camera. Placing a cue properly into the action of performance is equivalent to capturing an image at the most opportune moment.
I'm looking forward to adding to this space. In the past few months, I managed to find the time to book and complete some headshot sessions. I managed to work with and for some pretty amazing colleagues. In these sessions, I've decided focus on headshot and portraiture work with Theatre Administrators, Stage Managers and Designers. The behind-the-scenes folks. Looking forward to adding that work.
